Ecotourism is defined as the responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and improves the well-being of local people. (TIES, 1990)
Ecotourism is a vital component for not only Green Frog Adventures but also Costa Rica. As long time guides in the country we have seen first hand how easily and quickly communities, rainforest, wildlife and jungle can be completely destroyed when proper care and respect for nature isn't given. We love our country and its inhabitants (native, wild, beautiful and unique) so we strictly follow these eco tour guidelines:
- We will do everything within our power to minimize our impact on the country and its people's way of life.
- Through your adventure tour your guide will provide tips and insights into how you too can help build environmental culture awareness and respect.
- We will make sure that your tour provides a positive experience for both you and your family as well as for the natives (people, wildlife, plants and ecosystems).
- We choose only activities, adventures, hotels and restaurants that positively benefit and empower the local communities.
- By the time you leave we believe you will have a heightened sensitivity to Costa Rica's political, environmental and social climates.
Besides sending you home safe and full of wonderful memories, active stewardship for Costa Rica's inhabitants is one of our primary goals.
For you to enjoy an eco tour adventure with Green Frog Adventures you must be:
- One who enjoys getting outside even if that means getting wet and muddy.
- You should have a passion to learn and ..
- Have learned that treating everything with respect is the best way to get along.
- You will have to be open minded to new cultures and ideas to fully appreciate your time here.
- But you will be rewarded with memories that will last you a lifetime.
We encourage you to check out some of the eco tour activities and adventures we offer and to contact us with some ideas that we can put together into a tour for your family that will be good for you, good for the people of Costa Rica and for the plants and animals you come across.
