Turrialba Volcano rises an amazing
10,000 feet above sea level and we ascend this behemoth using
a combination of 4x4s, horses, and our own two feet. Once
we summit, we enjoy a gourmet lunch as we’re awed by
the spectacular panoramic view. After lunch, we put on our
dry gear and harnesses and start hiking down one of the many
creeks that cascade down the steep slopes. In no time at all,
we arrive at our first waterfall, a beautiful 50 footer. The
only way down is to repel. The guides rig the ropes, give
a good demonstration, then, it’s into the abyss! We
continue down the ruggedly beautiful canyon, swimming across
pools, jumping off ledges, and repelling down a series of
spectacular waterfalls to the vehicles waiting below. After
the wild descent, we whisk our clients back to their lakefront
hotel for poolside cocktails and stories about the day’s
adventures.
